Our directors are at the forefront of all Sapphire Controls projects. Combining over 75 years in the power industry, we have a long standing commitment to sustaining positive client relationships with integrity and good company ethics.
Andrew Rackham – Chairman
Andrew started as a Technician Apprentice at Laurence Scott gaining a HNC in Electrical Engineering. After training in Motor testing, Electronics testing and Switchgear testing among others, Andrew then spent some time designing switchboards and motor controls to customer specifications with LSE before joining Square D. After ten years at Square D Andrew left to start Sapphire Industrial Controls in 1988 which then became Sapphire Controls.
Brian Kreyling – Managing Director
Brian began his Electrical career at the Central Electricity Generating Board where he specialised in Electrical Engineering. His next position was at Square D where he spent 5 years before setting up Sapphire Controls with Andrew Rackham in 1988. Their aim was and is to this day to combine a quality product with a specialist service.
Nick Archer – Production Director
Nick has been in engineering and Manufacturing for 28 years. Starting on the shop floor, he made his way up to senior management where he has been for the last 15 years. He holds various mechanical and electrical qualifications together with an HND in Business Management. Nick is responsible for the day to day running of the factory.
Nick Carter – Engineering Director
Nick began his career in the electrical industry as an apprentice at a HVAC company where he carried out a JIB apprenticeship gaining City and Guilds in Maintenance and Installation of Electrical Plant and an ONC in Electrical Engineering. Nick joined Sapphire Controls in 1994 gaining his HNC in Electrical Engineering and NVQ Level 4 in project management.
John Kreyling – Project Director
John began his career working for a specialist motor control contractor within the Ford Motor Company. He joined Sapphire Controls Rayleigh Sales Office in 2001 and moved to Norwich for 3 years as an engineer. Now based back in Rayleigh qualified in Project Management and Electrical Engineering and with 15 years experience within the industry
